2013

Alexis Parks, resident care associate at Holley Court Terrace in Oak Park, Ill., received the 2013 ALFA Hero Award May 8th at the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) 2013 Conference & Expo in Charlotte, N.C. The Hero Award recognizes individuals who are ideal representatives of the hundreds of thousands of people serving in senior living communities. See Alexis’ story on ALFA’s Hero Award page.
The California Assisted Living Association (CALA) awarded Kathleen Benton-LeValley at Chancellor Place of Lodi, the organization’s prestigious Outstanding Team Member award. CALA chooses recipients of these awards based on their commitment to providing outstanding, quality care and service to residents in the Assisted Living communities where they work.

2011

Sharon Stiles, the executive director at
Sterling House Shelby, a Brookdale assisted living community, has been honored with a Hero Award from the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) in the Executive Director category.

2010

Lorinda Nicol, an LPN and Health and Wellness Director at Clare Bridge of Spokane, a Brookdale Alzheimer’s/dementia care community, has been honored with a Hero Award by the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA).

2009

Curtis Bond, a LPN of Southerland Place Midlothian, a Brookdale assisted living and Alzheimer’s/dementia care community has been honored with a Hero Award by the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) in the nurse category.

2008

Dee Aponte, life enrichment coordinator of Sterling House Fort Myers, a Brookdale assisted living community, received top honors and was recognized as the
ALFA Hero in the staff member category.
